The human complement subcomponent C1q associates with C1r and C1s in order to yield the first component of the serum complement system. The protein encoded by this gene is known to bind to the globular heads of C1q molecules and inhibit C1 activation. This protein has also been identified as the p32 subunit of pre-mRNA splicing factor SF2, as well as a hyaluronic acid-binding protein.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence and Inhibition Assays. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000. Detects gamma C1qR in RIPA lysates from Raji cells. Raji cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with diluted C0010-12. Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-mouse and a chemiluminescence detection system. Immunofluorescence: Reported to show positive immunostaining for gamma C1qR in permeabilized polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN). Inhibition: Reported to inhibit the binding of high molecular weight kininogen (HK) to gC1qR. Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Recommended secondary antibodies
I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo (does not crossreact with rat)
Positive Control
Raw cell lysate
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
GST fusion protein corresponding to aa74-282 of the mature form of human gamma C1qR. The epitope has been mapped to aa204-218.
Form
Supplied as a liquid, 30% glycerol.
Purity
Ascites
Specificity
Recognizes the mature form of human gamma C1qR, Mr 33kD and the truncated form lacking aa74-95.
