MEF2C is a transcription activator which binds specifically to the MEF2 element present in the regulatory regions of many muscle-specific genes. This protein controls cardiac morphogenesis and myogenesis, and is also involved in vascular development. It may also be involved in neurogenesis and in the development of cortical architecture.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Dot Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:1,000 Dot Blot: 1:100-1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Thr20 of human MEF2C (KLH).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human MEF2C when phosphorylated at Thr20.
