Neurotensin receptor 3 or sortilin (the intracellular sorting protein 95kD) is a member of a family of receptors characterized by a single transmembrane domain, a short intracytoplasmic domain, and a long cysteine-rich luminal extracellular domain. This receptor has been found in the brain, spinal cord, muscle and other peripheral cell types, and in cancer cells. Sortilin exhibits sequence similarities with proteins involved in intracellular transport and trafficking.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 on extracts from NSC34 cells Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:1000 on rat spinal cord Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to the extracellular domain of human Sortilin.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute with 50ul sterile ddH2O.
Purity
Serum.
Specificity
Recognizes human Sortilin. In Western Blot, detects a strong band at ~90kD in extracts of NSC34 cells. Intensely stains motor neurons within the rat spinal cord in Immunohistochemistry. Species Crossreactivity: rat and mouse
