| TNFSF9, a type II transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the TNF superfamily, preferentially expressed by B cells, acts as a ligand for CD137 (4-1BB ligand receptor/TNFRSF9). | | | Interaction between 4-1BBL and its receptor acts as a co-stimulatory signal for T cell activation and expansion, and is involved in the generation of cytotoxic T cells (Tc) and in the process of antigen presentation.
