2-Bromo-N-(hydroxymethyl)acetamide was used for coating polystyrene beads. The beads were then used for the immobilization of LFA-3 and removal of white blood cells from the peripheral blood samples. A CD-2 antigen-specific cell adhesion material is used in transfusion to prevent post-transfusion side effects such as autoimmune diseases.
