| Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly. Autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. ATG4A is a cysteine protease required for autophagy, which cleaves the C-terminal part of target proteins, such as MAP1LC3, GABARAPL2 and GABARAP. ATG4A belongs to the peptidase C54 family, and is widely with high expression level in skeletal muscle and brain. | | | Catalog # | 029421 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry.
