Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Affinity Purified B IH
Glutathione peroxidase catalyzes the reduction of hydrogen peroxide, organic hydroperoxide, and lipid peroxides. It functions in the protection of cells against oxidative damage and can be found mainly in the cytosol of mammalian cells. GPx is unusual in its content of a selenocysteine residue in its active site. Animal models have demonistrated a role for GPx1 in protection against oxidative stress in neurons, cataract formation, and heart failure.
