| Catalog # | 029489 | | Glutathione S transferases are a family of enzymes that play an important role in detoxification by catalyzing the conjugation of many hydrophobic and electrophilic compounds with reduced glutathione. Based on their biochemical, immunological, and structural properties, the soluble human GSTs are categorized into 4 main classes | alpha, mu, pi, and theta. The amino acid sequence GST is highly conserved in most organisms, including mammals. | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 0.05ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | GST recombinant protein | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 0.1M Tris-glycine, pH 7.4, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.05% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Recombinant corresponding to GST expressed in Schistosoma japonicum. | | Specificity | Recognizes recombinant glutathione S-transferase protein from Schistosoma japonicum form independent of species. Crossreactivity: native GST of S. japonicum. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
