| This gene belongs to the homeobox family of genes. The homeobox genes encode a highly conserved family of transcription factors that play an important role in morphogenesis in all multicellular organisms. Mammals possess four similar homeobox gene clusters, HOXA, HOXB, HOXC and HOXD, located on different chromosomes, consisting of 9 to 11 genes arranged in tandem. It is reported that all Hox paralog group 4 members, A4, B4, C4, and D4, have similar effects on hematopoietic stem and progenitor self-renewal in vitro. It is shown that each paralog group 4 member both promotes proliferation and inhibits differentiation, thereby enabling the exponential expansion of hematopoietic progenitors from c-kit(+)/CD41(+) cell fractions of day 6 murine embryoid bodies. | | | Catalog # | 029507 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot.
