Specifications

ALOX15 converts arachidonic acid to 15S-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid. The protein also acts on C-12 of arachidonate as well as on linoleic acid.

Specific ActivityALOX activity was measured using a DPPP coupled assay. The enzyme (5.6ng/ul) was incubated with 200uM linoleic acid in DPBS buffer (pH 7.4) for 10min at room temperature followed by addition of 100ul of 0.125mM DPPP in methanol. After 30min incubation at room temperature, fluorescence was read at Ex350nm/Em380nm.
Storage and StabilityAliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
