Specifications

LIGHT belongs to the TNF family of ligands, and can signal through the herpes virus entry mediator type A receptor (HVEM, TNFRSF14), LT beta R, or bind to a decoy receptor, DcR3. It is expressed in splenocytes, activated PBL, CD+8 tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, granulocytes, and monocytes. LIGHT has the ability to active NFkappaB, to co-stimulate the activation of lymphocytes and to induce apoptosis in certain human tumor cells. Recombinant human LIGHT has a calculated mass of 19.3kD containing 177aa residues. Due to glycosylation LIGHT migrates between 20-22.5kD by SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions.

Storage and StabilityStore lyophilized products at -20°C. For reconstituted solutions of most products, we recommend short-term storage at 4°C. For longer term storage the protein solution should be stored with a carrier protein (eg. 0.1% BSA) in working aliquots and stored frozen at -20°C. Additional freeze/thaw cycles may cause some denaturation of the protein.
