Specifications

Lungkine is a CXC chemokine that is expressed in lung epithelial cells and, to a lesser extent, in certain fetal tissues. No human homolog has been identified and a specific cell surface receptor has not yet been found.Lungkine expression in lung tissue is elevated in response to inflammation, at which time it acts to specifically recruit neutrophils and direct them into the lung airway.Recombinant murine Lungkine is a 16.3kD CXC chemokine consisting of 142 amino acid residues, including four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.

Storage and StabilityStore lyophilized products at -20°C. For reconstituted solutions of most products, we recommend short-term storage at 4°C. For longer term storage the protein solution should be stored with a carrier protein (eg. 0.1% BSA) in working aliquots and stored frozen at -20°C. Additional freeze/thaw cycles may cause some denaturation of the protein.
