GPX2(glutathione peroxidase 2 (gastrointestinal)) also known as GSHPX-GI or GLUTATHIONE PEROXIDASE, GASTROINTESTINAL, is a member of the glutathione peroxidase family encoding a selenium-dependent glutathione peroxidase that is one of two isoenzymes responsible for the majority of the glutathione-dependent hydrogen peroxide-reducing activity in the epithelium of the gastrointestinal tract.  The GPX2 gene is mapped to chromosome 14 by Southern analysis of human/hamster somatic cell hybrids. Gpx6 is aselenoprotein in humans with cysteine-containing homologues in rodents.

Storage and HandlingStore at -20 C for one year. After reconstitution, store at 4 C for one month. Can also be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 C for long term.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
