Fibroblast Growth Factors (FGFs) are a 22 member family of proteins known to be involved in angiogenesis, wound healing and embryonic development. As a family, they bind to heparin and signal through four receptor tyrosine kinases called, FGFR1, 2, 3 and 4.

Biological ActivityThe ED(50) determined by dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by 3T3 cells expressing FGF receptors, was found to be <1ng/ml.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
