| The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a large family of proteins defined by an alpha/beta hydrolase fold, and contains three sequence motifs that correspond to a catalytic triad found in the esterase/lipase/thioesterase subfamily. It differs from other members of this subfamily in that its putative catalytic triad contains an asparagine instead of the serine residue. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Chanarin-Dorfman syndrome, a triglyceride storage disease with impaired long-chain fatty acid oxidation. | | | Catalog # | A0004-69 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 1:4000 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Goat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 0.5mg/ml tris-saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa177-187 of ABHD4. | | Specificity | Recognizes human ABHD4 at ~48kD in Human Brain (Cerebellum, Cerebral Cortex and Frontal Cortex) lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining.
