| Acetyl-Coenzyme A acetyltransferase 2 is an enzyme involved in lipid metabolism. Reported patients with ACAT2 deficiency have shown severe mental retardation and hypotonus. The ACAT2 gene shows complementary overlapping with the 3 prime region of the TCP1 gene in both mouse and human. These genes are encoded on opposite strands of DNA, as well as in opposite transcriptional orientation. | | | Catalog # | A0220-01A | | Description | Recombinant Human ACAT-2 produced in E.Coli is a non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing amino acids 1-397 and having a total molecular mass of 41.3kD. Recombinant ACAT2 contains T7 tag at N-terminus and is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. | | Applications | • ELISA • MS • Inhibition Assays • Western Blotting | | Stability | Recombinant human ACAT-2 although stable at 140C for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -180C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | | Molecular Weight | 41.3kD | | Source | E. coli | | Purity | 95% as determined by RP-HPLC, anion-exchange FPLC and/or reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel. | | Concentration | ~0.1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 10mM Tris, pH 8.0, 0.1M sodium chloride, 1mM DTT and 20% glycerol. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
