Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Affinity Purified E B IP IH
Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) catalyzes the pivotal step of the fatty acid synthesis pathway. The 265kD ACC-alpha is the predominant isoform in liver, adipocyte and mammary gland, while the 280kD ACC-beta is the major isoform in skeletal muscle and heart. Phosphorylation by AMPK at serine 79, or by PKA at serine 1200, inhibits the enzymatic activity of ACC. Recent research indicates that ACC is a potential target of antiobesity drugs.
