| Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) is an enzyme located in the postsynaptic membrane and in the muscle endplates, where it hydrolyses the neurotransmitter acetylcholin. AChE from brain is a tetramer (G4-AChE) with a molecular mass of 320kD, AChE from erythrocytes is a dimer (G2-AChE) with a molecular mass of 170kD. | | | Catalog # | A0526-43 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1,k | | Clone No | 2E7 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Bovine | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 15mM sodium azide. | | | Purity | Purified by Protein A/G affinity chromatography from culture supernatant. | | Immunogen | Bovine G4-acetylcholinesterase, purified and detergent solubilized (1). | | Specificity | Recognizes Acetylcholinesterase (bovine brain, AChE)Has specificity for native, heat denatured and SDS plus heat denatured AChE. | | Reacts with AChE from bovine and human brain or erythrocytes.
