Produced in goats immunized with human alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein (h alpha 1-Acid Glycoprotein) purified from human plasma. Human alpha 1-Acid Glycoprotein specific IgG was purified by human alpha 1-Acid Glycoprotein affinity chromatography. alpha 1-acid Glycoprotein, also known as orosomucoid-1, is a positive acute-phase reactant that is produced by the liver and secreted in plasma. Plasma alpha 1-acid concentration increases in response to inflammation and infection. alpha 1-acid glycoprotein belongs to the lipocalin family and binds numerous basic and neutral lipophilic drugs and steroid hormones. It is a 183aa protein with 5 N-linked glycans that comprises 45% of the 43kD mass of the protein. The human and mouse protein share 43% aa sequence identity.
