| Actins are highly conserved proteins ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells. Three main groups of actin isoforms have been identified in vertebrates; alpha, beta and gamma. Alpha actins are found mainly in muscle tissues. | | | Catalog # | A0760-27E | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 2ug/ml Human smooth muscle actin has a predicted length of 377 residues and a MW of 42kD. | | Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed and paraffin): 0.2-2ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS, pH 7.4, to concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml.. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Clone No | 9G306 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 1.2% sodium acetate, 2% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide. Reconstitute in 1ml of PBS to concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml. | | Purity | Purified by affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide of 10 amino acids corresponding to the N-terminus of alpha smooth muscle actin. | | Specificity | Reacts only with alpha smooth muscle actin and does not react with actin from striated muscle (alpha-sarcomeric) and myocardium (alpha-myocardial). It also does not react with beta and gamma actins. Species crossreactivity: Human, mouse, porcine, baboon, rabbit. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | ACTA2, ACTSA, ACTVS |
