| Catalog # | A0760-51X |
| Applications | Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. |
| Recommended Dilution | Immunoprecipitation(Denatured verified): 2ug/mg protein lysate. Use Protein G. |
| Western Blot | 0.5ug/ml for 2hrs at room temperature. |
| Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin) | 1:400 for 30 min. Staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min. followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. |
| Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. |
| Positive Control | HeLa cells, skeletal muscle. |
| Cellular Localization | Cytoplasmic |
| Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at-20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at-20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |

| Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. |
| Immunogen | Chicken gizzard actin |
| Specificity | Reacts with all six known vertebrate isoforms of actin (MW~42kD). It also reacts with two cytoplasmic actins (beta, gamma) which are highly homologous to one another, but which differ from the muscle actins by about 25 amino acid residues. This antibody is highly recommended for monitoring total protein load on Western blots. |
| Species crossreactivity | Human, bovine, mouse, canine, porcine, rabbit, rat, chicken, Dictyostelium discoideum, Physarum polycephalum. |
