Muscle specific actin is a 42kD protein specific for actin present in skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle. This antibody may be useful in the study of tumors arising from these muscle cells, such as rhabdomyosarcomas, leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas.

Applications	Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution	Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin. 1:10-1:40, Frozen. Does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections.This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.
	Clone 3H521 is reported to be suitable for use in Western blotting (1).
	Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Recommended positive control tissue	Skeletal tissue.
Recommended Secondary Reagents	F(ab')2 rabbit anti-mouse IgG HRP
Recommended Negative Controls	Mouse IgG1 Negative Control
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
