| Activating Transcription Factor (ATF) Proteins are a family of cellular proteins that contain basic region leucine zipper (bZIP) DNA binding domains. The tax protein of human T cell leukemia virus type-1 (HTLV-1) stimulates in vitro DNA binding of several ATF bZIP domains by enhancing dimerization in absence of DNA resulting in viral transcription and cell transformation. Adenovirus E1a is a protein that stimulates transcription of early viral genes. E1a is not a sequence-specific DNA binding protein and therefore must target the viral promoter through a specific promoter bound protein called Activating Transcription Factor-2. | | | Catalog # | A0855-43Z1 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
