| Single-stranded DNA-specific cytidine deaminase. Involved in somatic hypermutation, gene conversion, and class-switch recombination in B-lymphocytes. Required for several crucial steps of B-cell terminal differentiation necessary for efficient antibody responses. May also play a role in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression by participating in DNA demethylation. | | | Catalog # | A0855-75V | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 1:4000 | | Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml, observed in human lymph node, spleen and tonsil lysates on ~26kD bands | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Goat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to RRKFLYQFKNVR-C, from human AID, at N-terminal (NP_065712.1). | | Specificity | Recognizes human AID. Species sequence homology: Bovine and porcine. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
