Adenoviruses are 65-80nm, non-enveloped, regular icosahedron pathogens often associated with respiratory and gastrointestinal illness as well as conjunctivitis. Well over 40 types of adenoviruses have currently been recognized. Adenoviruses have been used in vaccine production and gene therapy. They have the ability to trigger cell proliferation by interfering with host cellular anti-oncogenes. Adenoviruses are easy to prepare. They multiply quickly and efficiently. They have the ability to infect and deliver their genome (including researcher-created constructs) to the nucleus of a variety of post-mitotic cells. Adenoviruses are extremely valuable in research and medical applications ranging from virus/host cell interaction to the insertion of novel genes or regulatory mechanisms into eukaryotic cellular systems, to delivery of therapeutic anti-cancer genes.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
