The adenovirus early gene product E1A is a potent stimulator of cellular proliferation, which when overexpressed can overcome the growth- inhibitory effects of TGF-beta. The E1A region encodes a series of related proteins (35-46kD) with multifuctional capabilities and forms a specific complex with the retinoblastoma tumor suppressor gene product (Rb protein). The E1A and E1B regions together comprise the transforming region of adenovirus. While expression of E1A alone is sufficient to immortalize primary cells, complete transformation requires the additional expression of the E1B region.

Applications	Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution	Western Blot: 1ug/ml for 2hrs at RT
	Immunoprecipitation: 2ug/mg protein lysate
	Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:50 for 30min at RT
	Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10min followed by cooling at RT for 20min
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
