| Adipophilin is present in milk fat globule membranes and on the surface of lipid droplets in various cultured cell lines; inducible by etomoxir. Adipophilin is positively detected in the glandular cells of lactating mammary gland (ductal cells are negative), zona fasciculata of the adrenal gland, Sertoli cells of the testis, and in fat-accumulating hepatocytes of alcoholic cirrhotic fatty liver; adipocytes are negative. New specific marker for liposarcoma. | | | Catalog # | A0887-05 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applicatons not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:2000 | | Immunohistochemistry (Frozen, Paraffin embedded tissue after microwave treatment): 1:100; Incubate for 1hr at RT or overnight at 4°C. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the reseracher. | | IHC Positive Controls | Glandular cells of lactating mammary gland (ductal cells are negative), zona fasciculata of the adrenal gland, Sertolis cells of the testis, fat-accumulating hepatocytes of alcoholic cirrhotic fatty liver (adipocytes are negative), lipid storing CD68-positive macrophages. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Guinea pig | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 0.09% sodium azide. | | Purity | Serum | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal (aa1-29) of human and murine Adipophilin. | | Specificity | Recognizes Adipophilin at ~52kD. Reactive with cell lines | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
