This gene encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, which consists of more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. This member can efficiently reduce aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes, and it is less active on hexoses. It is highly expressed in adrenal gland, small intestine, and colon, and may play an important role in liver carcinogenesis. [provided by RefSeq]

ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:100-1:8000
Western Blot: 0.03-0.1ug/ml. ~35kD band observed in lysates of cell lines HEK293, A549 and HepG2 (calculated MW of 36.0kD according to NP_064695.2)
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
