Amyloid b (Ab) accumulates in the senile plaques of the brain during Alzheimer’s disease and during certain classes of cerebrovascular angiopathy. Ab generation is initiated by proteolytic cleavage of the Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) by b-secretase (BACE) at a site which corresponds to the Ab N terminus. A second proteolytic cleavage by g-secretase at a site corresponding to the Ab C terminus releases the Ab peptide. The insoluble Ab peptide forms aggregates in the vessels and senile plaques of Alzheimer’s disease brains.

Recommended Dilution	ELISA: 0.05ug/ml

Storage and Stability	Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
