| A large body of evidence has implicated the amyloid precursor protein (APP) in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The phosphorylation APP at Thr668 is thought to play a critical role in generation of the soluble APP (beta) and beta-amyloid peptide (abeta) which are the major components of senile plaques in patient brains inflicted with AD. | | | Catalog # | A2275-83E | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:1000 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Rat | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid (serum) | | Purity | Serum | | Immunogen | Peptide corresponding to amino acid residues from the C-terminal region of rat APP | | Specificity | Recognizes rat APP (Mr~115k). Immunolabeling of the APP protein band is completely blocked by preadsorption of the antibody with the peptide used as antigen. Species Crossreactivity: canine, human, mouse, and non-human primates based on 100% antigen sequence homology. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | AAA, ABETA, ABPP, AD1, Alzheimer disease, Amyloid beta A4 protein precursor isoform b, Amyloid beta A4 protein precursor isoform c, Amyloid beta-peptide, APPI, Cerebral vascular amyloid peptide, CVAP, PN2 |
