| There are 3 known b-APP proteins (b-APP695, b-APP751, b-APP770). The amyloid b-peptide is thought to be derived from all three precursor proteins. Evidence indicates that b-APP is present in senile plaques, extraneuronal tangles, neurous, satellite glial cells of the dorsal root, enteric and trigerminal ganglia, megakaryocytes, cardiac muscle and the pituitary and adrenal glands. | | | Catalog # | A2275-87E | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and Paraffin-embedded): 5-10ug/ml. Suitable for immunohistochemical staining of alcohol-fixed paraffin-embedded or frozen tissue sections. Other fixatives may also work following formic acid treatment. | | Western Blot: 0.5-1.0ug/ml | | ELISA: 0.1-0.5ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1,k | | Clone No | 6A6 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.1% sodium azide | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | Rec b-APP695 | | Specificity | Recognizes human b-amyloid precursor protein (b-APP695) that has a predicted amino acid sequence length of 695. There are 3 known b-APP proteins (b APP695, b APP751, b APP770) thought to be the source of amyloid b-peptide. Recognizes an epitope within the first 200 amino acids in the b-APP amino terminus. This antibody will react with all 3 forms. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
