| The Androgen Receptor (Androgen R) is a 90kD steroid hormone receptor that is critical for the development and function of the male reproductive system. Androgen R binding to testosterone or 5alpha-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) triggers receptor dimerization followed by translocation to the nucleus where it promotes transcription of androgen responsive genes. Multiple polymorphisms in Androgen R are linked to the development of prostate cancer. The ligand binding domain of human Androgen R (aa661-920) shares 100% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat Androgen R. | | | Catalog # | A2281-01D | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Flow Cytometry.
