Androgen receptor (AR), a zinc finger transcription factor belonging to the nuclear receptor superfamily, is activated by phosphorylation and dimerization upon ligand binding (1). This promotes nuclear localization and binding of AR to androgen response elements in the androgen target genes. AR plays a crucial role in several stages of male development and the progression of prostate cancer (2,3).

Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Immunofluorescence (IF-IC): 1:600 Flow Cytometry: 1:400 Western Blot: 1:2000, incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% nonfat dry milk, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:400 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recombinant protein corresponding to residues near the N-terminal region of human androgen receptor.

Supplied as a liquid in 10mM sodium HEPES, pH 7.5, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.1mg/ml BSA, <0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol.
