| Androgen receptor is an androgen-dependent transcription factor involved in prostate cancer cell growth. It is a 110 kD protein and a member of the steroid/nuclear receptor gene superfamily. The PI3K/Akt pathway regulates AR activity by inducing its phosphorylation. Whether AR activity is enhanced or suppressed has been found to be cell line specific(1). | | | Catalog # | A2281-15 | | Applications | Western blot: please see reference 1 | | observed size: ~110 kD | | positive control: IGF-1 stimulated LNCaP (prostate cancer) cells | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Clone No | 4H24 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.2% gelatin, 0.05% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide containing the serine 210 phosphorylation site of androgen receptor. | | Specificity | Recognizes Androgen Receptor, phosphorylated (Ser210) | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
