| Angiopoietin-1 is an angiogenic secreted protein that interacts with endothelial specific Tie-2 receptor. It is primarily expressed in developing endothelial cells. During embryonic development, Ang-1 binds and induces tyrosine phosphorylation of Tie-2. Ang-1 may play a critical role in heart development. A homolog of Ang-1, termed Angiopoietin-2 (mouse and human Ang-2, 496 AA; ~85% identity) has recently been identified. It may act as an antagonist for Ang-1 and Tie-2. Ang-1 and Ang-2 have ~60% sequence homology. It is prominently expressed in tissues that are in involved in vascular remodeling (ovary, placenta, and uterus). | | | Catalog # | A2293-10 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 (50-100ng of control peptide/well) | | Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 (MW:~55kD) | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Control Peptide (ELISA) | A2293-12 | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Mouse | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder, 0.05% sodium azide.
