| At least 9 distinct polymorphic forms of apolipoproteins are known. The apolipoproteins act as stabilizers of the intact lipoprotein particles. Quantitative measurements of HDL, LDL and VLDL particles in human serum are often used to estimate an individuals' relative risk of coronary heart disease. In addition, quantitative immunological measurements of certain apolipoproteins (especially A-1 and B) have been suggested to be more accurate estimators of coronary heart disease than measurements of lipoprotein particles (especially HDL and LDL). | | | Catalog # | A2299-08T | | Cellular Localization | Secreted | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 0.15M Sodium Chloride, 0.02M Potassium Phosphate, 0.005M EDTA [pH 8]. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Full length native apoLipoprotein Type A-I (purified). | | Specificity | This antibody reacts with human apoLipoprotein A-I and has negligible crossreactivity with Type A-II, B, C-I, C-II, C-III, E and J apoLipoproteins. Typically less than 1% cross reactivity against other types of apoLipoprotein was detected by ELISA. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | APOA1/APOC3 fusion gene, Apolipoprotein A I precursor, Apolipoprotein of high density lipoprotein |
