Apolipoprotein A2 (ApoA2) is a major protein component of serum HDL. It is produced by the liver and is involved in cholesteryl ester formation and cholesterol transport from tissues to the liver. Polymorphisms of ApoA2 are associated with disorders of cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism. ApoA2 can form disulfide-linked 17kD homodimers and heterodimers with other apolipoproteins.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml. The detection limit is 5ng/lane under reducing and non-reducing conditions.
Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. The detection limit is ~5ng/well.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
