| Apolipoprotein C-III is a very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) protein. It inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase and it is thought to delay catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles. An increase in apoC-III levels induces the development of hypertriglyceridemia. | | | Catalog # | A2299-71 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:500-1:5000 | | ELISA: 1:5000-1:10,000 | | Immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded): 1:50-1:200 | | Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml (UV280) | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 0.125M sodium borate, 0.075M sodium chloride, 0.005M EDTA, pH 8.0, 0.01% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic full-length Apolipoprotein Type C-III. | | Specificity | Recognizes human apolipoprotein C-III and has negligible crossreactivity with Type A-I, A-II, B, C-I, C-II, E and J apolipoproteins. Non-speci c crossreactivity of anti-apolipoprotein antibodies with other human serum proteins is negligible. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
