| Apo D is localized to steroid-responsive tissues (adrenal cortex, ovary, endometrium, prostate and pituitary). Apocrine epithelium within axillary skin exhibited strongly positive staining for Apo D and peripheral nerves, pituitary and renal tubules were also immunoreactive. Apo D, a progesterone binding glycoprotein of 24,000 dalton monomer molecular size, is a constituent of high density lipoprotein in plasma and was first isolated in large quantity as GCDFP-24, the major protein component of most human breast cyst fluids. | | | Catalog # | A2299-72D | | Source | Tissue culture supernatant | | | | Applications: | | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues). Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry: (Primary antibody): 1:200 for biotin based detection s;ystems. For optimal staining, the sections should be pretreated with an antigen unmasking solution, primary antibody should be incubated for 20-60 min at RT. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 2B15 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS. | | Purity | Purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation. | | Immunogen | Apo D, a progesterone binding glycoprotein of 24,000D monomer molecular size. | | Specificity | Recognizes human Apolipoprotein D. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
