| Aquaporin 1 is a 28kD integral protein thought at first to be a breakdown product of the Rh polypeptide but was later shown to be a unique molecule that is abundant in erythrocytes and renal tubules. AQP1 is also expressed by the choroid plexus and various other tissues. It forms a water-specific channel that provides the plasma membranes of red cells and kidney proximal tubules with high permeability to water, thereby permitting water to move in the direction of an osmotic gradient. | | | Catalog # | A3000-01B | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 1:1000-1:20,000 | | Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000; Predicted molecular weight 32.3kD. | | Immunoprecipitation: 1:1000 | | Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:500-1:1000 | | Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:500-1:1000 Heat mediated antigen retrieval is required for paraffin sections. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | Kidney | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
