| Aquaporin-8 (AQP8) is a water channel protein. Aquaporins are a family of small integral membrane proteins related to the major intrinsic protein (MIP or AQP0). Aquaporin 8 is found in pancreas and colon, but not other tissues. | | | Catalog # | A3000-36D | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml | | Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Chicken | | Source | Rat | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.05% sodium azide, 0.1% BSA. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A 16aa synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal domain of rat Aquaporin 8. | | Specificity | Recognizes rat Aquaporin 8 (AQP8) a member of a family of membrane water channels which exist throughout nature and include CHIP, MIP and other aquaporins. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
