| Argonaut 2,3,4, also known as Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C, is a member of the Argonaut family of proteins with 861aa. It is a highly basic protein with PAZ and PIWI domains and is well known for its role in short-interfering-RNA-mediated gene silencing (TGS pathway) and RNA interference. It shows identity with rabbit translation initiation factor Eif2c and is necessary for maintaining non-CpG DNA and histone methylation, developmental control, stem cell maintenance, and tumorigenesis. Reports suggest that Argonaut 2,3,4 may be a component of a hypothetical meristem forming competence factor. RT-PCR and ELISA revealed intermediate and nearly uniform levels of expression in all tissues. | | | Catalog # | A3570-21C | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
