| B-arrestin-1 is a member of the arrestin family that regulates beta-adrenergic receptor function. Beta-arrestins seem to mediate the desensitization and internalization of G protein-coupled receptors (1). B-arrestin-1 is phosphorylated by Erk1/2 at Serine 412 of the C-terminus (2). Expanded roles for B-arrestin-1 have been studied. Interaction with molecules such as clathrin, AP-2 and NSF directs the clathrin-mediated internalization of G-protein-coupled receptors. Interaction with molecules such as Src, Raf, Erk, ASK1 and JNK3 appears to regulate several pathways that result in the activation of MAP kinases (3,4). | | | Catalog # | A3577-01C | | Applications | Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Flow Cytometry: 1:40 | | Western Blot: 1:500 | | Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 | | Immunocytochemistry: 1:100 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Clone No | 6k29 | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not Determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 50mMTris-Glycine, pH 7.4, 0.15M NaCl, 0.01% sodium azide, 0.05% BSA, 40% glycerol. | | Purity | Supernatant | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near N-terminus of human ß-arrestin-1 | | Specificity | Recognizes human B-arrestin-1.
