| Beta-arrestin 1 is a member of the arrestin family, which has been implicated in mediating the desensitization and internalization of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR). Beta-arrestin 1 is constitutively phosphorylated by Erk1/2 at serine 412 of the C-terminus and localized in the cytosol. When recruited to the plasma membrane after agonist stimulation of the beta2-adrenergic receptors, beta-arrestin 1 is rapidly dephosphorylated. This dephosphorylation is an essential step of beta-arrestin 1-mediated receptor endocytosis, but it is not required for receptor desensitization. | | | Catalog # | A3577-03 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
