| ARTS (apoptosis related protein in TGF-beta signalling pathway), also known as septin-4. It is a member of the septin family, evolutionary conserved proteins involved in cytokinesis. ARTS is expressed ubiquitously in adult and foetal tissues, in particular in the heart, liver and adrenal gland. It is also expressed in colorectal cancer and malignant melanoma. ARTS enhances cell death induced by TGF-beta and is found in the mitochondria until apoptosis occurs, when it moves to the nucleus. | | | | | | Applications: | | | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | | Catalog # | A3595-01 | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 0.5-2.0ug/ml | | Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 2ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding toamino acids near the amino terminus of human ARTS. | | Specificity | Recognizes human ARTS (apoptosis related protein in TGF-beta signalling pathway), also known as septin-4. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | SEPTIN-4 |
