ATP synthase is extremely conserved through evolution and can be found in plants, fungi, bacteria and animals. The ATP synthase enzyme is a transmembrane protein responsible for driving the reversible reaction from ADP+ phosphate to ATP. This reaction is accomplished by a flux of protons across the membrane as a result of electron transfer. The ATP synthase protein has two main sections; the F1 ATPase (soluble) and the F0 ATPase (membrane embedded). The F1 section consists of the alpha, beta, gamma, delta and epsilon subunits. While the F0 consists of a, b and c subunits.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionImmunofluorescence: 5ug/ml
Immunoprecipitation: Detects an ~50kD protein representing ATP Synthase from solubilized rat brain mitochondria.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
