As a member of B7 family, B7-H4 (VTCN1) plays a critical role in the regulation of antigen-specific immune responses.B7-H4 is a co-stimulatory protein expressed in activated T cells and is involved in the negative regulation of cell-mediated immunity in peripheral tissues (1). B7-H4 ligation to its receptor BTLA T-lymphocytes results in inhibition of T-cell activation, cytokine secretion, and the development of cytotoxicity (2).B7-H4 protein is typically expressed on the surface of activated T-cells, B-cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells, but not in most normal
tissues.In tissues, B7-H4 is over expressed in breast, endometrial, ovarian, renal cell (RCC), and non-small cell lung carcinomas (NSCLC).B7-H4 has been identified as an important cancer marker for breast and ovarian cancers (3).
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Not suitable for Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.

Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:250-1:500 antigen retrieval is recommended.

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
