The causative bacterial agent of cat scratch disease has been identified as Bartonella henselae. In the past, complicated silver stains and/or PCR were used to identify and confirm this agent.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsImmunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:50-1:200. Incubate 30-60 minutes at RT. HIER antigen retrieval required. The use of red chromogens such as AEC leads to easier detection of the small rod-shaped Bartonella henselae bacterium.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
