| A novel gene, BCAS1 is implicated in breast cancer development. Breast tumor lines that harbor amplification of the cancer-related amplicon 20q13.2 display high levels of the BCAS1 protein compared to normal human fibroblasts or a breast cancer line that does not overexpress the BCAS1 mRNA. | | | Catalog # | B0395-40 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blotting: 1:500-1:1000 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add glycerol (40-50%) aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Residues 532-550 [DTNSLQNGDKLQKRPEKRQ] of human NABC1. | | Specificity | Reacts with residues 532-550 [DTNSLQNGDKLQKRPEKRQ] of human BCAS1. BCAS1 is a 60kD protein; however it forms dimers, which are readily detectable in MCF-7 cells. Reactivity to other species unknown. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | AIBC1, Amplified and overexpressed in breast cancer, Novel amplified in breast cancer 1, NABC1 |
