| Defensin beta 4 (BD-4) is a secreted cationic antimicrobial peptide and member of the beta-defensin family, highly expressed in the testis, which plays an important role in innate immunity. Studies have shown that the expression of BD-4 is up-regulated in respiratory epithelial cells, following infection by both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and that BD-4 acts in synergy with lysozyme and BD-3. | | | Catalog # | B0903-26 | | Source | E.coli | | Applications | Suitable for use in Functional Assays.
